Statement on behalf of East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust
Nick Carver, Chief Executive for East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, said:
“We can confirm that sadly two patients aged in their 70s and 80s, both who had underlying health conditions, have passed away at Lister Hospital. They had tested positive for COVID-19.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

“We can confirm that sadly eight patients aged between 58 and 92, all who had underlying health conditions, have passed away at Lister Hospital. They all had tested positive for COVID-19.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
- Please note two of the deaths announced today are historical, but have not been released until now to ensure accurate reporting.

- The trust, DHSC, NHS England and NHS Improvement will not be giving out any further information on these patients.
- The media are asked to respect the wishes of the families, and the interests of staff at the hospital to avoid any disruption to operational services.
