Changing places toilets
As part of the Trust’s commitment to ensure a fully inclusive and positive patient experience, we were proud to open a changing places toilet earlier this year.
Changing places toilets provides a more accessible environment for disabled people, as well as for our neurodiverse patients. The facility includes a full coverage XY hoist, a height adjustable changing bench, a privacy screen and disposal bins. The area allows users to change or be changed without risk to themselves or their carer in a dignified and respectful way.
Our changing places toilet is located in the outpatient department on the corner of Area 10 and is available 24-7. Access is gained via the use of a standard radar key used to open disabled toilets.
We hope this will make a positive difference for our patients as we aim to improve our accessibility across the Trust!
AccessAble accessibility guide
The Trust has worked with AccessAble to provide a detailed guide for all of our departments, wards and services at the Lister – which includes information on lighting, signage, doors, ramps and more.
