Medical school – Bristol. Trained in Manchester and Barts (London).Appointed as first ‘single-handed’ nephrologist at Lister hospital in 1988.
Set up the Lister renal and dialysis service, carrying out first dialysis in May 1989. Joined by first consultant colleague in 1991. Clinical Director renal services for 20 years establishing dialysis units and renal services in St Albans (1996), Luton (2001), Bedford (2013), Harlow (2013).
The department has 13 Consultants and a strong multidisciplinary team serving 1.4M population across Herts, Beds, W. Essex.
Long record of committee and policy work at local, regional and national levels. Busy schedule of international lectures and teaching commitments over a 35 year period.
