Miss Ghadah Ahsan was appointed as a Consultant Gynaecologist with special interest in Diagnostic Oncology at Lister Hospital in 2012.
She received her basic training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen University Hospitals. She then moved to the south coast and completed her specialist training in Wessex Deanery, working at Poole, Dorchester and Princess Anne, Southampton University Hospital.
During her training she completed special skills modules in Gynaecological Oncology, Vaginal Surgery, Gynaecology Ultrasound Scanning and Advanced Labour Ward Practice. She also developed a special interest in outpatient Hysteroscopy.
She has special interests in Diagnostic Oncology, Outpatient Hysteroscopy and minimal access surgery. She is a colposcopist certified by the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
In addition to early endometrial and micro-invasive cervical cancers, Miss Ahsan treats most benign Gynaecological conditions and is especially interested in advanced Laparoscopic (keyhole surgery) and Hysteroscopic surgery.
She strives to provide high standard of care to all her patients. Her approach is very much geared towards building patient’s trust by understanding their concerns and maintaining an honest, compassionate and professional approach to treatment.
