Dr Gupta was appointed as Locum Consultant Dermatologist in Nov 2017. She graduated in medicine, with distinctions, from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India in 2004. Subsequently, she worked as an SHO at UCLH. This was followed by post graduate training in Dermatology at Kasturba Medical College where she was awarded her post-graduate diploma in 2008. Thereafter, she obtained a second post-graduate degree, also in dermatology from Base (Army) Hospital in Delhi in 2011.
Dr Gupta runs a variety of clinics both General Dermatology and Specialized (Pediatrics, Biologics, Genito-urinary and Skin cancer). She is also responsible for providing dermatological opinions for inpatients admitted under different specialties. Additionally, she oversees nurse lead clinics for systemics, PDT, Isotretinoin, phototherapy services.
She has a specialist interest in Pediatric Dermatology and has supported the improvement and development of these services from Lister and Hertford County Hospital. She also has a keen interest in medical education and is frequently invited to give lectures to GP trainees and GP colleagues.
Dr Gupta has published a number of research articles and won various awards for her work including the National award for the best research paper (India, 2012); Fellowship grant (EADV, Netherlands, 2014), Feature Poster award (WCD, Vancouver, 2015), WCD Trainee scholarship (WCD, Vancouver, 2015), WCD rising star scholarship (WCD, Vancouver, 2015).
Lastly, Dr Gupta has additional management responsibilities and is currently the Clinical Governance Lead for the department.
