Professor Diana Gorog is a Consultant Cardiologist and Clinical Lead for non-Cancer Research. She holds academic appointments as Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Hertfordshire and Visiting Professor at Imperial College. She qualified in Medicine at St Bartholomew’s Medical School, London and undertook cardiology training at the Hammersmith, Royal Brompton, Royal Free, St Thomas’s and St Mary’s hospitals. In addition to clinical training, she undertook 2 dedicated periods of research, leading to a postgraduate MD from the University of London and PhD from King’s College London, fthe latter funded by a British Heart Foundation fellowship. She sees patients with all types of heart disease, including angina, arrhythmias, heart failure, hypertension and valve disease. She undertakes coronary angioplasty (stenting), pacemaker insertion, and is part of the 24/7 primary PCI on-call rota. She is actively engaged in research with a special interest in thrombosis and preventing heart attacks in at-risk patients.
